2. We understand the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
Many studies over the years have highlighted the importance in understanding the difference in the two types of motivators. With extrinsic motivation, these are outside sources of motivation such as good grades or rewards for doing well on a big test. Intrinsic motivations come from within oneself as desires to do or achieve something because of the internal satisfaction it gives you. While any teacher or tutor could provide extrinsic motivation, very few educators can aid students in tapping into their intrinsic motivators. At FFT, we have had great success in helping students improve performance by first helping them to fall in love with learning again.
